Worship… a word that means many things to many people. At FBCEverman it is our desire that our Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday night services to be filled with fellowship, discipleship, ministry and worship as we corporately come together to exalt the name of Jesus. But what is worship? A couple of Christian Bible resources defines worship as an “expression of reverence and adoration of God”. Another says, “To worship is to become aware of the holy presence of God and to follow God’s leadership in love.” Today churches seemingly tend to restrict the idea of true worship as to just to what goes on Sunday morning in church or more specifically what type of presentation and music that is featured.
The fellowship at FBCEverman believes life changing worship should exist in our lives long before we come together corporately as the body of Christ. Worship must begin in our lives as individuals and as part our family dynamic. To understand better the richness of our relationship with God, our worship must be part of our lives daily in prayer, the reading of Scripture and the praising of His name. Therefore every aspect of a service at FBCEverman is considered to be an act of worship that exalts the name of Christ. Our worship is not complete until we follow God completely each and everyday serving Him in Spirit and in Truth!
When you visit our Sunday or Wednesday service, we have already prayed over our worship and that God will bless all that we do to honor our audience of One. We have also prayed we will be found faithful to demonstrate all the praise and glory that He alone deserves. Whether it is the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, singing joyfully songs of praise, fellowshipping and lovingly praying for one another, or giving of our our time, talent and resources, everything we experience together seeks to offer reverence and adoration for Christ alone. So, what is worship at FBCEverman really? It is the attitude of our hearts that seeks to make Christ first in all things, in all our lives.
Come and WORSHIP with us. You’ll be GLAD you did!
John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and
truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
